Bill Honan Named Executive Partner for Holland & Knight's New York City Office

NEW YORK CITY – Holland & Knight Managing Partner Steven Sonberg has appointed Bill Honan to serve as Executive Partner of the firm's New York City office. Honan served as Executive Partner in New York from 1999 to 2003, and replaces John Reilly, who returns full time to his litigation practice.

“I am pleased that Bill will serve as Executive Partner in New York," said Sonberg. "His knowledge of the New York legal market, as well as leadership skills, make him the right person to strengthen and grow our New York office and its core practices."

Honan practices in the Litigation Section and heads the firm's Maritime Practice Group. He is one of the foremost experts on maritime law with 40 years of experience in the area.

“I look forward to working with Steve in taking advantage of the opportunities that we have to expand our presence in the New York market,” said Honan.

Honan has been featured in The Best Lawyers in America Guide, from 1995-2009, the Guide to the World's Leading Shipping and Maritime Lawyers from 2005-2009 and in The Best of the Best USA, Expert Guide, 2007-2009. Honan received both his B.A. and J.D. from the University of North Carolina.
