James W. Michalski Joins Holland & Knight's National Labor & Employment Group in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES – August 18, 2008 – James W. Michalski has joined Holland & Knight's Los Angeles office as Senior Counsel in the firm's national Labor and Employment Practice Group. Michalski joins Holland & Knight from the Los Angeles office of law firm Jackson Lewis.
"James' significant experience in traditional labor and employment law enhances our California presence and supports our clients' needs on the West Coast," said Mark Alexander, Holland & Knight's national Labor and Employment Practice Group Leader. Michalski focuses his practice exclusively on labor and employment law. He is an experienced trial lawyer and has successfully tried cases before state and federal courts; administrative agencies, including the EEOC; and arbitration tribunals on claims of all types, including employment discrimination and harassment, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition and breach of contract. He has represented management in traditional labor relations and business and employment matters for a diverse clientele ranging from major national corporations to mid-sized businesses. His clients are in a wide cross-section of industries, including health care services, education, communications, construction, manufacturing, printing, metals forging and hospitality (country clubs).
Michalski teaches employment law as a faculty professor at the University of Phoenix and is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Sections of the State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
