Governor Patrick’s Office of Consumer Af¬fairs and Business Regulation announced on November 4, 2009, that it has filed the final Massachusetts ID Theft Regulation, also known as 201 CMR 17:00. The goal of Regulation 201 is to help combat the loss of personal information; the most significant change is a require¬ment that covered entities amend existing agreements that they have with third-party service providers to include language requiring these providers to implement and main¬tain “appropriate” security measures for the protection of personal information.

Five Holland & Knight Partners Named to Legal Elite's Hall of Fame

TAMPA – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that 49 of the firm's partners have been named to Florida Trend magazine's 2009 Legal Elite list. The Florida Legal Elite are the top lawyers practicing in Florida, according to the results of the magazine's statewide attorney surveys.

This year’s list of 918 Legal Elite attorneys represents less than 2% of the nearly 63,000 Florida Bar members practicing in Florida. More than 15,000 votes were cast and the ballots were processed, checked and tabulated by Bradenton-based Outsource America and Suncoast Opinion Surveys in St. Petersburg.

For the first time since Florida Trend published Legal Elite six years ago, the magazine presents the 2009 Legal Elite Hall of Fame. To be considered, an attorney must have been a Legal Elite winner for each of the past five years. A panel of lawyers were consulted to evaluate the Legal Elite and make the final selection of Hall of Fame honorees.
