Washington, D.C. – September 8, 2009 - Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Bill LeBeau has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C., office as Senior Counsel in the Public Policy and Regulations (PP&R) practice group. LeBeau will concentrate his practice in the telecommunications arena.

"We are delighted that Bill has joined Holland & Knight," said Rich Gold, head of the firm’s PP&R practice group. "He has broad experience in the telecommunications area that will help strengthen Holland & Knight’s capabilities and expand the services that we offer our clients."

Prior to joining the firm, LeBeau had been in-house regulatory counsel for NBC Universal, Inc., and Telemundo, where he routinely represented NBCU and Telemundo before Congress and multiple federal regulatory agencies. During his several years at NBCU, LeBeau captained advocacy efforts in major policy matters, including a major role on the Childhood Obesity and Media Task Force; led the company’s FCC efforts in multiple challenging transactions, including NBC’s 2004 merger with Universal Studios; and managed the full range of issues associated with broadcast and cable television programming, including indecency, product integration, pharmaceutical and political advertising, and video content distribution via broadcast stations, cable networks, wireless TV and the Internet. He began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable David B. Sentelle, Circuit Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C.

LeBeau received his B.S. in aerospace engineering, with highest honors, from the University of Virginia, and earned his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School.
