Holland & Knight Attorney Janis Schiff Receives 2009 Woman of Achievement Award from the Chicago Alliance of Women

CHICAGO – October 7, 2009 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Janis Schiff, partner and head of the firm's Real Estate Section, was selected as recipient of the 2009 Woman of Achievement Award from the Chicago Alliance of Women. Schiff is one of 12 recipients who will receive the award at a reception on Oct. 14, 2009.

The award is given to outstanding women who are nominated by their peers and chosen by the programs sponsors, as leaders in real estate in Chicago and across the nation. Schiff was selected for her career accomplishments and civic involvement.

Schiff serves as the Holland & Knight’s Real Estate Section leader and coordinates the firm's Rising Stars mentoring and leadership program which she founded in 2001.

Schiff has extensive experience representing both landlords and tenants in commercial leasing of shopping centers, office buildings, restaurants, business parks, warehouses and unimproved land and also focuses her practice on lease workouts and restructurings, acquisition and sales contracts for improved and unimproved properties, development agreements, reciprocal easement and operating agreements, partnership agreements, condominium documents and real estate financing, including borrower and lender representation.
