Impact of New Media on the Courts

Panelists discuss the effects of social media on court cases. They talk through a hypothetical case and move through a series of motions considering the different perspectives of the prosecutor, defense, journalist, judge, juror and public information officer. Some of these motions include demanding potential jurors provide their Facebook pages during the jury selection process, closing the entire voir dire process to the press, and cameras in the courtroom.
