Douglas W. Clapp is the Practice Group Leader of the Syndication Group in the Business Law Department. The Syndication Group has over 30 lawyers in multiple offices around the firm working on transactions involving various tax credits and other tax advantaged investments. Mr. Clapp’s practice focuses on syndicated real estate transactions which qualify for the low-income housing and/or the historic rehabilitation tax credit. He has handled matters for several major national syndicators of affordable housing and other real estate projects in the country. Mr. Clapp represents lenders and Fortune 500 corporate investors in, and developers of, affordable housing, market-rate apartments, student housing complexes and commercial real estate projects. His practice also includes the resolution of partnership, tax and other structuring issues which arise in transactions involving the acquisition of real estate portfolios or partnership and limited liability company interests.
