Dayna M. Hutchins practices business and tax law with a concentration in equity financing for affordable housing projects eligible for low-income housing tax credits under the federal tax code and various state programs. Since joining Holland & Knight in 2005, she has closed numerous low-income housing tax credit transactions involving complex debt structures and subsidy assistance from both public and private sources. She also has significant experience combining tax credit equity with HOPE VI, Capital Funds and other “mixed finance” programs for public housing. Ms. Hutchins primarily represents syndicators and direct corporate investors, including several Fortune 500 companies, major national banking institutions, and insurance companies with strong national or regional presence. She also counsels state housing credit agencies on matters pertaining to the low-income housing tax credit program. Most recently, she assisted state housing credit agencies with their use of stimulus funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) with a special emphasis on the Tax Credit Assistance Program (TCAP) and the Tax Credit Exchange Program.
