J. Mitchell Herbert, Jr. is a member of the Intellectual Property Law Practice Group of the Litigation Section of Holland & Knight. Mr. Herbert focuses his practice in the areas of patent prosecution, litigation and intellectual property licensing. He has worked on patent prosecution matters involving software (e.g., business methods/web-based applications; internet portals/search engines/spiders; graphical user interfaces; databases; wireless network management; network intrusion detection systems; network compression algorithms; digital rights management; digital watermarking; network encryption systems; securities trading systems; personal media devices; network processors and packet processing methodologies; network switches/routers/hubs), electronics, mechanical devices, medical devices and consumer devices. In addition to his prosecution experience, Mr. Herbert also works extensively in patent reexamination practice.
