Larry S. Millstein, Ph.D., Partner in Holland & Knight 's Northern Virginia office, practices in the Intellectual Property (IP) Practice Group. He has extensive experience in a broad range of IP law, including patent prosecution, designing intellectual property strategies to achieve business objectives, evaluating patentability issues, crafting applications and prosecution strategy to maximize the value of intellectual property assets, evaluating freedom to operate issues, undertaking IP-related technology analysis and evaluation, formulating patent litigation strategy, counseling on substantive due diligence, and counseling on strategic business planning involving IP, technology assessment and technology forecasting.
Dr. Millstein's practice focuses on technically complex matters, particularly relating to pharmaceutical agents, processes and formulations; molecular biology, bio-research instrumentation, genomics, expression profiling, proteomics, array technologies, HTS technologies, bioinformatics, drug discovery, bio-markers, transgenics, miniaturization technologies, MEMS, some aspects of nanotechnology and single molecule technologies.
Dr. Millstein has a Ph.D. in Chemistry / Molecular Biology, and he is a registered U.S. Patent Attorney.
