Shannon D. Sentman, LEED AP, is a transactional attorney practicing primarily in the area of commercial real estate, with an emphasis on sustainable development.
Mr. Sentman’s traditional real estate practice includes structuring, documenting and closing various commercial transactions. His sustainable development practice includes: (i) working with municipalities, developers, designers and contractors on issues related to green-building legislation, including representation of the first private projects to face the D.C. Green Building Act of 2006; (ii) counseling developers on structuring green projects, including consideration of higher first costs, available incentives and project team coordination; and (iii) drafting contracts and provisions to address green-specific issues and risks.
