Alice G. Haase is an Associate in Holland & Knight Real Estate Section. She focuses her practice on land use and zoning, condemnation, tax appeals and affordable housing. Ms. Haase's land use practice has taken her into numerous Virginia jurisdictions.
Ms. Haase has more than 20 years of experience in real estate and represents a broad range of clients, including local and national developers - commercial, retail, industrial and residential - and non-profit organizations. She has succeeded in seeking approvals for rezonings, special use permits, zoning appeals and site plans, as well as successfully contested tax assessments and condemnation awards.
Prior to her law career, Ms. Haase's real estate experience included brokerage, first in the residential arena and later in commercial sales and leasing, as well as real estate appraising. That prior work experience provides her clients with a unique, combined practical and legal approach that has proved to be very effective in her real estate practice and with jurisdictional staff and governing bodies.
Ms. Haase also has experience in the provision of affordable housing. She works with Catholics for Housing, a non-profit, non-denominational group based in Northern Virginia. In 2007, Ms. Haase was recognized for her pro bono work which provided affordable housing for municipal employees in Prince William County, Virginia.
Before joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Haase worked for two area law firms where her practice also focused on land use and zoning, land use litigation, tax appeals, condemnation and general real estate matters.
