Alex M. Gonzalez practices in the commercial and international litigation departments of the firm emphasizing complex commercial and class action litigation. His experience consists of representation of domestic and international business clients in the areas of international contract and business claims, and various business torts. He is experienced in complex federal and state cases, including commercial fraud and complex litigation. Mr. Gonzalez also has substantial experience in maritime and aviation litigation matters including charter party and lease disputes, personal injury defense, collisions, foreclosures, lien enforcement and defense, and numerous contractual disputes. Mr. Gonzalez has published materials on the subject of international law, particularly dealing with Latin America. He has represented clients in matters involving most countries in Latin America.
While at the University of Miami, Mr. Gonzalez was the recipient of the Bowman-Ashe Scholarship. He was awarded the James S. Bidlake Memorial Award for Excellence in Legal Writing, was president of the Hispanic Law Students Association, and a representative for Long-Range Planning of the Duke Bar Association.
