Brian Garcia is a transactional attorney and head of the firm's national immigration practice group. Mr. Garcia practices in the area of corporate, international law and business immigration and compliance and is a member of the firm's International and Cross Border Transactions Group.
As the head of the firm's immigration practice group, Mr. Garcia provides strategic immigration planning for the international relocation of personnel from and into the United States. Mr. Garcia advises international organizations, non-profits and businesses in obtaining immigrant and non-immigrant visas in all categories and professions. Mr. Garcia advises clients on the immigration effects of corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and implements strategies to ensure immigration compliance. Mr. Garcia also advises clients on immigration compliance and I-9 employment verification issues and has represented clients with audits before the Department of Homeland Security (ICE) and the Department of Labor. Mr. Garcia has also developed immigration compliance programs and performed numerous I-9 audits on behalf of clients and their sub-contractors and has acted as an immigration compliance auditor on behalf of domestic and international organizations.
Mr. Garcia also focuses his practice on corporate and international matters in a variety of business sectors and has extensive experience with domestic and international mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Garcia's corporate practice also includes joint venture transactions, financing transactions, strategic alliance and licensing agreements, outsourcing agreements, venture capital, private equity and other private placements. Mr. Garcia has extensive experience and is familiar with the legal systems, cultures and business practices of Latin America and Europe. Mr. Garcia advises clients on diverse market issues and assists in the evaluation and implementation of business strategies, establishment of local operations, corporate compliance policies and various operational, local and regulatory monitoring programs.
Mr. Garcia was born and raised in the Republic of Panama and attended Universidad de Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mr. Garcia acted as an immigration advisor to two Presidential and Vice Presidential transitions teams and is a frequent lecturer and author on corporate and immigration issues and has been published in numerous professional and Hispanic periodicals.
