Chelsea Maclean is an associate in Holland & Knight's West Coast Land Use and Environment Practice Group. Specifically, her practice includes:
- counseling clients on all aspects of regulatory compliance under federal and state environmental laws, including the California Environmental Quality Act
- representing clients in litigation arising out of land use and environmental issues
- advising clients on climate change and green building laws, regulations and guidance documents
- managing the entitlement process to obtain land use entitlements and other permits
- conducting due diligence of potential development projects with regard to land use restrictions, permits and entitlement requirements
- drafting and negotiating transactional agreements between developers, municipal agencies and other third parties
- advocating for clients in the enactment and amendment of state and local land use statutes and regulations
Ms. Maclean has also acted as an adjunct professor at the University of California Hastings College of the Law. During the Spring 2011 seminar, Ms. Maclean taught a course titled “Current State and Local Government Problems,” designed for students to analyze and report on cutting edge legal issues confronting California’s state and local governments. Specifically, Ms. Maclean supervised the students interested in current land use and environmental law issues.
