Donald P. Moore is a member of the Public Companies and Securities Group and the International and Cross-Border Transactions Group in the Abu Dhabi office (residency pending). His practice is diverse, including corporate and securities law, corporate governance advice, mergers & acquisitions, finance and investment, international transactions and distressed and bankruptcy-related transactions. His clients are distributed around the world and include multi-national companies, high-net-worth individuals, privately held businesses and publicly traded companies. Mr. Moore's international practice includes transactions and representations in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He also advises clients on their world-wide corporate structures.
Much of Mr. Moore's work involves the United Arab Emirates and the surrounding region, where he advises clients on construction, energy, infrastructure, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and transportation projects as well as regional security matters. His industry experience includes a significant understanding of construction, distressed business and crisis management situations, entertainment, finance and investments, food & beverage, healthcare, insurance, private military companies, technology and transportation and logistics.
Mr. Moore serves on the boards of public and private companies, including public-company audit, compensation and strategy committees. He has also served as a principal and board member of a successful hedge fund advisor and a principal in a boutique investment bank focused on raising private equity and debt for businesses located in or doing business in Latin America.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight LLP, Mr. Moore was head of strategic and financial planning and analysis for the $1+ billion logistics division of Ryder System, Inc.; served several years as in-house counsel for Ryder System, Inc. handling the legal requirements for several strategic business units, including the logistics division, the aviation division and the vehicle leasing division; and began his career as an attorney in the Corporate Securities group at Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
