David Scott Sloan assists high-net-worth clients to reach and maintain their financial and estate planning goals. From wealth management to lifestyle pursuits to philanthropic interests, Mr. Sloan understands the needs of wealthy families and designs estate plans that include sophisticated techniques which minimize overall taxes. High net worth individuals and families, particularly executives of private and public companies, principals of private equity, venture capital and hedge fund companies as well as entrepreneurs and owners of closely held businesses, regularly turn to Mr. Sloan for advice in all aspects of succession planning and wealth transfer.

Mr. Sloan is often called upon by clients to serve as a trustee of trusts they have established or to provide guidance to their professional fiduciaries.

Mr. Sloan is Co-Chair of Holland & Knight’s Private Wealth Services Group, the largest trusts and estates practice in the United States. Mr. Sloan also is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).

Mr. Sloan is a Deputy Section Leader for the firm's Business Section. He is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, now serving his third three-year term, where he chaired the Board’s Strategic Planning Committee for over five years.

Mr. Sloan has published numerous articles and has been quoted in several publications including Fortune Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Inc. Magazine, Financial Planning Magazine, The Boston Business Journal, Private Wealth Management and the New York Law Journal. His opinions have been sought out on a variety of current tax issues, many of which have aired on television and radio.
