Erika R. Royal is in the firm's Litigation Section with an emphasis in the areas of Employment and Labor law. Her employment and labor practice involves representing employers in state and federal court on matters arising out of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Whistle Blower Act, Florida's Workers' Compensation Retaliation statute, and other federal, state and local antidiscrimination and employment-related statutes.
Ms. Royal represents employers before federal, state and local administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Florida Commission on Human Rights, the National Labor Relations Board, and the Broward County Office of Equal Opportunity. Ms. Royal also counsels and advises clients on a range of issues, including all aspects of the employment relationship, employee handbooks and policies and compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.
Ms. Royal has recently participated in Holland & Knight's 2007 Rising Stars program, an intensive and dynamic educational, leadership, and marketing training program designed to promote women within Holland & Knight. Ms. Royal also serves as a coordinator for the Fort Lauderdale Women's Initiative program, which is part of Holland & Knight's commitment to diversity.
