Gale Roberson, a member of the Private Wealth Services Group, has served as outside general counsel for large listed and other publicly traded corporations as well as one-man corporations, working particularly in the fields of mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, employment and benefit matters, and shareholder relations. He also has represented issuers in public and private offerings and filings under federal and state securities laws, and counseled officers, directors and shareholders regarding securities law liabilities, including representation in Securities and Exchange Commission investigations.
Mr. Roberson served on the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Wilmette and as chairman of the board for 11 years. He has handled residential zoning disputes and land development problems, and has served on a special village commission on land use. Mr. Roberson has represented corporations and individuals in a variety of real estate transactions, including commercial and residential sales, leases, condominium purchases and public and private financing arrangements. Mr. Roberson also has represented owners of Northern Illinois farm properties in various matters.
Mr. Roberson has represented public corporations in land use contractual disputes in federal court. Mr. Roberson also has litigated securities matters and represented dissenters in state corporation law litigation, participants in federal ERISA suits and corporations and individuals in various types of securities-related cases. More recently, he has focused on estate planning and wills and trusts preparations.
Mr. Roberson has been a public arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers for many years and has been approved for inclusion as a mediator on the NASD Regulation mediator roster. He has been a lecturer for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education since 1965 and is the author of various articles published by that Institute.
