John M. Compagno is a partner in Holland & Knightâs San Francisco office. His practice focuses on the areas of real estate, corporate and finance law.
Mr. Compagno has extensive experience in real property transactional and development matters including feasibility analysis, due diligence, financing, contract negotiation, contract drafting, construction and leasing. His clients include developers, real estate investment trusts, property managers, landlords and first time purchasers and sellers. He has been lead counsel in over two hundred million dollars worth of real estate acquisitions and sales and the leasing of over ten million square feet of commercial and residential space.
Mr. Compagno also serves as legal counsel for major manufacturers and corporate entities in all aspects of business including business formation, purchase and sales, licensing, contractual negotiations, employment, finance, business disputes, collection and drafting. Mr. Compagno has also represented a variety of borrowers on both taxable and non-taxable bond issuances.
Prior to his transactional practice, Mr. Compagno litigated numerous civil, business and construction litigation cases where he obtained substantial trial and arbitration/mediation experience. Mr. Compagno also served as a criminal prosecutor in the Monterey County District Attorney's office in 1993-1994.
