Lynn Cutler

Lynn Cutler is a Senior Policy Advisor. In 2001, she joined the firm after serving as senior staff to President Clinton on Intergovernmental Affairs. Her responsibility in the White House included advocacy for cities, counties and tribal governments.

Prior to that she had many years of work with state and local officials. As an elected County Official in Iowa, she was appointed by President Jimmy Carter as Vice Chair of the U.S. Commission on Intergovernmental Relations. As Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee for twelve years, Ms. Cutler oversaw work with state and local elected officials, as well as the Women's Vote Project.

Since coming to Holland & Knight, Ms. Cutler has worked with the firm's Public Policy & Regulation group, representing cities, counties and tribal governments. She has been active with the U.S. Conference of Mayors, serving for two years as Co-Chair of the Mayor's Business Council. She is also active in the Democratic Governor's Association, and the Large Urban County Caucus of the National Association of Counties. The firm maintains close ties to the National League of Cities.

In addition, Ms. Cutler has worked for many years in the women's rights community and has been involved with several organizations and efforts that work on women's and children's issues. She was a delegate to the UN Women's Conference in China in 1995 and has received numerous awards for her work on women's advancement.

In 2005, Ms. Cutler relocated to the firm's Chicago office, while continuing to work in Washington. In Chicago, she has been active in supporting candidates for U.S. Senate and U.S. House from around the country, working with the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee. This has led to development of strong ties to many new Members and Senators—augmenting relationships of many years with the leadership of Congress.

Ms. Cutler has close ties to many of the new leaders in the federal government, including Cabinet secretaries, and at the White House.
