Michael G. Di Paolo concentrates his practice in construction law and litigation with an emphasis in the area of contract negotiations and drafting, advising clients on contract interpretation and administration, claims preparation/management and providing general business advice to construction industry clients.

Mr. Di Paolo most recently served as Senior Vice President, Commercial Director and Corporate Counsel at AMEC Construction Management, Inc. While at AMEC, he had responsibility for overall front-end risk evaluation, assessment and management of new projects, claims, bonding and insurance in addition to his role as corporate counsel for the company.

Mr. Di Paolo has extensive working knowledge of the various types of project delivery systems utilized in the construction industry as well as the types of roles and levels of risk undertaken by the relevant parties in each situation. This experience includes, without limitation, numerous projects using the "at risk" general contractor/construction management role and the various risk and insurance implications that arise in such a setting. He also has extensive experience with bonding issues and the use of subcontract default insurance. Mr. Di Paolo has provided legal services in connection with commercial projects in various U.S. markets ranging in size from a few million to several hundred million dollars in construction value.

Mr. Di Paolo has been a speaker at several construction industry events. Most recently, he served as a panelist for The Associated Owners & Developers Conference in New York in 2004 and the Construction Superconference in San Francisco in 2004 and 2005. He has also served as a guest speaker before the New York City Bar Association.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Di Paolo worked for two years in the construction management field on site as a project manager on a large scale prison construction project.
