Matthew T. Joe has a general commercial real estate practice, including all aspects of real estate acquisition, development, leasing, financing, due diligence, management and disposition. He counsels national, regional and local clients in a variety of real estate related matters, and has broad experience in negotiating, drafting and closing complex commercial financing and purchase-sale transactions involving shopping centers, hotels, condominiums, office buildings, industrial warehouses, multifamily apartment complexes and mixed-use developments.
Mr. Joe works extensively with attorneys throughout the firm on both national portfolio projects and on matters specific to Georgia or the Southeast. He represents a large state teachers’ pension fund in acquiring, financing and leasing institutional-grade assets, including office buildings and multifamily apartment complexes; a national banking institution in purchasing, leasing and developing outparcels and inline space for branch retail banks throughout Georgia and Florida; and a national branded hotel chain in leasing office space throughout the country. Mr. Joe regularly represents financial institutions and other clients in originating, refinancing and foreclosing loans secured in whole or in part by commercial real estate assets. He also has experience in developing, leasing and acquiring specialized types of real estate assets, such as telecommunications facilities and data centers.
