Nancy L. Hengen practices in the Business Law Section. Ms. Hengen is experienced in loan and finance transactions generally and she has extensive background in commercial vessel finance and Jones Act issues. She also has secured and unsecured financing transaction expertise, including leveraged and single investor leasing, loan agreements, ship mortgages, Title XI financing, security agreements, related security documentation and construction contracts. She has represented both United States and foreign banks, financial institutions and other investors as well as borrowers and lessees in loan and leasing transactions involving vessels, rigs, other equipment and facilities. Her clients have included major oil companies and other shipping companies as well as the financial institutions that finance them.

Ms. Hengen is also experienced in the formation and governance of corporations established under Liberian, Vanuatu and Marshall Islands laws and has dealt extensively with those jurisdictions.

Ms. Hengen has lectured on numerous topics relating to vessel finance, environmental, workout and bankruptcy issues. She has testified as an expert witness in the High Court in London on issues relating to closely held New York and Liberian corporations.
