Patrick P. Patangan practices primarily in the areas of real estate litigation and transactions, with an emphasis on real estate lending, distressed loan workouts and foreclosures. Mr. Patangan also has significant experience representing buyers and sellers of commercial real estate, landlords and tenants in commercial leasing matters and resolving title insurance disputes. He is also a member of the firm's Sustainable Development Team and has a growing practice counseling clients involved in "green building" development projects and related transactions.
Representative Experience:
- Represent leading financial institution in connection with workouts of numerous troubled loans to condominium developers, investors and builders. Representation includes loan restructurings, loan sales, foreclosures, receiverships and deed in lieu transactions.
- Represent national banking institutions in special asset loan recovery, workout agreements and liquidation strategies.
- Represented secured creditor in Chapter 11 reorganization of franchisees of several chain restaurants resulting in successful restructuring of loan agreements and collateral packages.
- Represented Chapter 11 debtor-in-possession in liquidation of regional furniture manufacturing company including pursuit of preferential transfers, liquidation of real estate holdings and ultimately consummation of successful plan of liquidation.
- Represented Chapter 11 debtor-in-possession in liquidation of largest grocery store chain in Louisiana and related real estate holding companies.
