Robyn C. Axberg is an associate in Holland & Knight's Chicago office. She is a member of the firm's Business Law Section and focuses on mergers and acquisitions; general corporate matters; financial services; and information technology and software licensing. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Axberg worked as a financial analyst for a Fortune 500 company.

Ms. Axberg has assisted clients in the acquisition and disposition of assets and going enterprises across a diverse mix of industries and locales. She utilizes various legal structures tailored to the needs of her client, including serving as lead counsel in preparing asset and stock purchase agreements, ancillary transaction documents and coordinating consummation of the terms thereof. Often, the transactions span the globe, including experience with diligence and legal structures in Asia, South America and Europe.

Ms. Axberg aids closely-held businesses in entity selection and formation. She has helped her not-for-profit clients receive tax exemption treatment from the Internal Revenue Service and comply with state requirements. Ms. Axberg negotiates and drafts a wide range of contracts on behalf of her clients and she has helped her clients find solutions to shareholder disputes.

Ms. Axberg has experience in the information technology industry, representing software developers, consultants and distributors. Her experience includes e-commerce, software licensing, protection of intellectual property and information technology due diligence. Ms. Axberg also represents banks and other lenders in documenting and closing loan transactions.

At Holland & Knight, Ms. Axberg has served as co-chair of the Chicago office’s summer associate program in 2008 and 2009 and sat on the Chicago office associate committee from 2009-2011. She provides pro bono legal services to organizations servicing the underprivileged.

At Loyola University, she received the Justice Edward D. White Scholarship Award for graduating with the highest grade point average in the evening division. She served as executive editor for the Illinois Judicial Conference Symposium issue of the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal. She participated in student fellowships with the Institute for Consumer Antitrust Studies and the Chicago Intellectual Property Colloquium. Prior to graduation, Ms. Axberg assisted clients through the Loyola Business Law Center Clinic.
