Richard H. Lawrence III is a Partner in Holland & Knight's Beijing office and a member of the International and China Practice Groups. He is a corporate generalist who has advised on a wide range of banking, joint venture, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, project development and finance, corporate finance, technology transfers, workouts and general corporate and commercial matters over the years during postings in New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Beijing. He has extensive experience in China related matters, having represented both People's Republic of China (PRC) government agencies and state owned enterprises and foreign investors.
Mr. Lawrence’s China related experience includes having been principal legal adviser to the Chinese sponsor in a number of high profile energy, infrastructure and natural resource projects, including the Antaibao Surface Coal Mine Project, the Day Bay Nuclear Power Plant Project and the Guangdong LNG Terminal and Trunk Pipeline Project. He also advised on the Laibin B Power Plant BOT Project, and advised on the Chengdu No. 6 Water Plant B BOT Project and the Taiwan High Speed Rail Project, among others.
Recently, Mr. Lawrence has been active in advising multinational clients in China M&A transactions, sourcing and contract manufacturing arrangements, distribution arrangements and other China-related operational and compliance matters and in advising companies and investors in China-related private equity financings.
