Robert J. Kline focuses his practice on estate planning, probate, taxation, probate litigation, trust litigation, beneficiary litigation, and fiduciary liability including the representation of trustees, personal representatives, executors, and other fiduciaries. He also represents a broad range of charitable foundations and other 501(c)(3) organizations. He practiced with Holland & Knight from 1987 to 1994 prior to leaving the firm to serve as Regional Executive, Managing Director and Senior Trust Officer for the Northern Trust Company where he served on the management, discretionary distributions, and investment policy committees.
Mr. Kline is admitted to practice and has litigated cases at the trial and appellate levels in the following courts: United States District Court for the Eleventh Circuit, United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, United States Tax Court and the Florida Supreme Court. He has also litigated extensively in many of Florida's Circuit Courts and District Courts of Appeal.
Mr. Kline has held federal and state securities licenses including series 7, 66, 24 (general securities principal) and a Florida Department of Financial Services license to transact in Life, Health, and Variable Annuity policies.
He has served as president, director, and executive committee member for numerous charitable organizations including the Children's Cancer Center, the Lowry Park Zoo, the Gulf Coast Museum of Art, and the Planned Giving Steering Committee for All Children's Hospital. Mr. Kline is a member of the Operating Board for the Greater Tampa Unit of the American Cancer Society and has served as Chairman of the Planned Giving Operating Board for the Florida Division of the American Cancer Society and as a member of the Income Development Committee of the Florida Division of the American Cancer Society. He serves as Co-chair of the Professional Advisory Council for WEDU Public Television. He also serves as an Elder for the Hyde Park Presbyterian Church.
