Robert M. Raives practices in the area of insurance and reinsurance law, including regulatory and legislative matters, litigation, arbitration, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Raives has been involved in a wide variety of insurance and reinsurance transactions and advisory work, and has extensive trial and appellate experience in federal and state courts and before arbitration panels.
From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Raives was a member of the Insurance Sector Advisory Committee for Trade Policy Matters jointly sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative. He has lecured widely on insurance and reinsurance matters, and served as a member of the Expert Advisory Committee of the Reinsurance Association of America.
Mr. Raives was a founding member and the President of Miller, Singer, Raives & Brandes, P.C. (1972-1993), and was Of Counsel to Rosenman & Colin (1993-1997) and to Gilbert, Segall and Young LLP (1997-2001). Mr. Raives is a director of several insurance companies. From 1968 to 1969, Mr. Raives served as a Judge of the Village of Muttontown, N.Y.
