Robert T. Watson practices in the areas of general and international commerical litigation, arbitration, corporate compliance, and white-collar criminal defense. His experience includes representing domestic and international corporations and individuals in arbitration, litigation, and criminal matters.
Mr. Watson serves on the Miami office Diversity Committee and as a South Florida Litigation representative on the firm-wide Litigation Associates Liaison Committee. He also has volunteered as a judge for the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, and Florida International University College of Law's oral appellate advocacy program.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Watson was an associate at a Miami-based international law firm. He was also a teacher for several years in inner-city public schools in Los Angeles, California.
While at Stanford Law School, Mr. Watson was a Markowski-Leach Scholar. He served as director of submissions and editor of the Stanford Technology Law Review, and was an editor of the Stanford Journal of International Law.
Prior to studying law, Mr. Watson was a Fulbright Scholar in Chile, where he conducted research on foreign policy and border disputes and studied at the Catholic University in Santiago.
While at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, Mr. Watson was a Krogh Scholar, was selected to represent the University at the Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference, and was awarded the University Medal for Hispanic Studies.
