Sean C. Sheely is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group of Holland & Knight's New York office. He practices in the area of complex commercial litigation including claims of breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, unfair competition, and misappropriation of trade secrets.
Mr. Sheely has represented companies and individuals involved in investigations conducted by the New York State Attorney General's Office, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, Department of Health and other regulatory agencies. Mr. Sheely has represented nonprofit organizations in investigations conducted by the Charities Bureau of the New York State Attorney General's Office. He has also conducted numerous internal investigations for companies confronting potential misconduct by its officers and employees.
Mr. Sheely has successfully litigated a number of intellectual property matters involving patent infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, and unfair competition. He has handled antitrust and securities matters, as well as professional malpractice and insurance and reinsurance cases.
Mr. Sheely has conducted multiple jury and bench trials in both state and federal court. He has appeared in trial and appellate courts throughout the United States. In addition, Mr. Sheely has represented clients in ICC, AAA, and ad hoc arbitrations, as well as in mediations.
