Steven L. Gillman is a Partner at Holland & Knight and Co-leader of the Chicago Labor & Employment Group. Mr. Gillman's practice emphasizes employment litigation, including claims of discrimination, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, misappropriation and use of trade secrets, defamation and other torts arising in the employment setting. He has extensive first-chair trial experience. He has appeared in cases in more than 25 states, and has tried cases in 8 states. He has also handled a broad range of issues for unionized clients, including numerous labor arbitrations, and client's undergoing union organizing campaigns. He has amassed an extraordinary record of success in the cases he has tried. He has obtained numerous published summary judgments in cases filed in state and federal courts across the country.


Mr. Gillman has served as arbitrator in employment disputes as a member of the Employment and Commercial Panels of the American Arbitration Association since 1996.

Mr. Gillman has conducted seminars for the Society of Human Resource Professionals, Illinois Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Urban League, National Business Institute, Tort and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Committee. He has been a featured speaker at the Conference of Casualty Insurance Companies Personnel Seminar, Property and Casualty Insurers Association Human Resources Conference, Chicago Claim Managers Council Educational Seminar, Central Claim Executives Association Conference, and Illinois Workforce Education Conference. Mr. Gillman is a contributing editor of the Desk Manual for Labor and Employment Law, Labor and Employment Committee of the American Bar Association.
