Scott J. Johnson practices in the fields of eminent domain/condemnation, commercial and appellate litigation, and real estate law. He is also certified as a Florida Circuit Court Mediator, and mediates cases in the areas of eminent domain/condemnation and commercial litigation.
Mr. Johnson heads the firm’s national Eminent Domain Practice Group. Mr. Johnson’s eminent domain practice includes over 30 years of experience representing both property owners and condemning authorities involving a wide range of properties, including mixed-use, commercial, office, industrial, residential, multi-family, special use, utilities, and unimproved parcels. His cases have been resolved through pre-suit settlement, mediation and jury trial, including on appeal.
Mr. Johnson’s commercial litigation and appellate practice has consisted of a wide variety of commercial and administrative cases, both jury and nonjury, including mediation, arbitration and appeals. His cases have involved business and real estate disputes of all types, including contractual issues, broker and commission disputes, landlord/tenant, probate and land use disputes.
Mr. Johnson’s real estate practice has consisted of representation of a wide variety of clients, including as a primary counsel to a major Florida home builder and developer.
