Tara L. Cooper is an Associate in the Litigation Practice Group of the Los Angeles office of Holland & Knight. Her practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, including the representation of international clients in complex litigation and the defense of domestic corporations in class action lawsuits. She also has experience in disparity studies, drawing on the academic analysis she performed in her law school dissertation on the constitutionality and social propriety of the use of race- and gender-based programs by government agencies. Ms. Cooper is the Coordinator of the Opening Doors for Children program in the Los Angeles office, and is also the Associate Pro Bono Coordinator for her office. Ms. Cooper is an active pro bono attorney for the Alliance for Children's Rights, finalizing more than 20 adoptions and guardianships since becoming a member of the Bar in 2005.
While in college, Ms. Cooper studied abroad in numerous countries through Miami's Business in Europe program. She also worked extensively with Miami Mentors, a college-based mentoring program affiliated with Big Brothers Big Sisters, serving as the program's President for two years.
