Bruce Jay Colan practices in the areas of complex business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, public-private partnerships, corporate law and sports (including team acquisitions and sports facility development, management, operation and finance). His experience includes planning, structuring, negotiating and implementing mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of businesses, corporate and other entities, financings and reorganizations, infrastructure projects, real estate and international transactions and general corporate counseling. Among other engagements, Mr. Colan led a team of Holland & Knight attorneys in drafting and negotiating development, management, operating and financing agreements for The Miami Heat with Miami-Dade County for the American Airlines Arena.

Mr. Colan is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. As Chamber Chairman and now as the Chair of a Chamber Task Force, Mr. Colan leads the Chamber's efforts to secure federal and state funding for high-speed rail. Among other things, Mr. Colan meets periodically with federal and state officials, has testified before Congress and is an invited speaker at high-speed rail conferences.
