Eduardo J. Gallástegui, founding partner of the law firm of Gallástegui y Lozano, S.C., acts as legal
counsel for Mexican and foreign financial institutions and companies dealing
with corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, international trade,
intellectual property, foreign investment, real estate, telecommunications law
and regulations and computer law. In June 1998, Gallástegui y Lozano, S.C.
formed and association with the international law firm of Holland & Knight
LLP.
Prior to forming Gallástegui y Lozano, S.C., Mr. Gallástegui was a partner
in Vazquez Pando, Celis Azuela y Asociados, where he was legal counsel for
national and international companies with respect to corporate matters,
international trade, and foreign investment. Mr. Gallástegui was also a member
of Noriega y Escobedo, S.C. where he focused on the practices of corporate law,
labor law, migratory law, copyright law, and international loans. Prior to
entering private practice, Mr. Gallástegui was Legal Advisor and Legal Director
to Gillette de Mexico, S.A. de C.V.
Since 1989, Mr. Gallástegui has been the President of the Legal Affairs
Committee of the Asociación Mexicana de Arrendadoras Financieras, A.C. (Mexican
Association of Financial Lessors.)
Mr. Gallástegui is bilingual (Spanish, English.) He has been a lecturer at
several seminars and conventions organized by the Inter American Bar
Association; Institute for International Research; World Computer Congress; the
Florida Bar of the American Bar Association; and the Euromoney Asset Finance
& Leasing Division.
Mr. Gallástegui graduated from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico
City, where he is a professor of "Mexican Constitutional Law."
