James L. Main leads Holland & Knight’s Private Equity Funds Practice Group. He focuses his practice in the areas of private equity fund formation and private equity investments in portfolio companies and also practices in the areas of corporate, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and other commercial transactions.

Mr. Main has represented a broad range of private equity funds, public and private companies, businesses, and individuals in various types of commercial transactions. His experience includes private equity fund formation, venture capital investments, corporate acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, redemptions and reorganizations, syndication and finance, loan workouts representing both lenders and borrowers, asset acquisitions and dispositions, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, employment agreements, and the federal income tax planning and consequences of all of the foregoing.
