CARE Honors Kevin Coventon with 2013 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award

ATLANTA (January 8, 2014) - Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Atlanta Partner Kevin Coventon has been honored with the 2013 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award by CARE (Cooperative for Assistance & Relief Everywhere) for his extraordinary contributions supporting CARE's mission to end global poverty. In addition to being a Holland & Knight client, Atlanta-based CARE is one of the largest non-profits in the world.

CARE's mission is to seek a world of hope, where poverty has been overcome and people live in dignity and security.  CARE's efforts improve basic education, end gender-based violence, provide healthcare and nutrition, increase access to clean water and sanitation, and expand economic opportunity.  Importantly, women are at the heart of CARE's international efforts, because women tend to be the poorest of the poor.

Mr. Coventon leads a national team of Holland & Knight attorneys who represent large nonprofit organizations, including colleges and universities, with respect to maximizing gifts left to the charity or institution, and recovering embezzled or misappropriated assets. He is a frequent speaker and panelist on trust and estate issues and has had articles published by both The Chronicle of Philanthropy and The Non-Profit Times. Mr. Coventon also serves as a member of Holland & Knight's Directors Committee.
