Holland & Knight Adds Bradley Houser and Shane Segarra to Expand Corporate Practice in South Florida

MIAMI (January 10, 2017) – Prominent capital markets lawyer Bradley Houser has joined Holland & Knight's Miami office as a partner. Mr. Houser will be joined by Associate Shane Segarra. Holland & Knight now has nearly 50 corporate, M&A and securities lawyers in South Florida and more than 250 nationally. Mr. Houser and Mr. Segarra were previously at Akerman, where Mr. Houser practiced for over 20 years and previously chaired that firm's Miami corporate practice.

Mr. Houser has nearly 30 years of experience handling a wide variety of capital markets, banking and other transactional matters. Messrs. Houser and Segarra have extensive experience with real estate investment trusts (REITs) and special purpose acquisition corporations.

In the community, Mr. Houser is active on the executive committees and boards of directors of the Orange Bowl Committee and The Beacon Council. He also serves as a lifetime honorary director of the Iowa Law School Foundation. He is also past chair of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Day School’s board of trustees.

Mr. Houser received a J.D. degree from the University of Iowa College of Law, an M.B.A. degree from University of Iowa, and a B.S. degree from Drake University. He is admitted to practice in Florida, Colorado and Iowa. Mr. Houser, who is also a certified public accountant, began his career at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Segarra received a J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He is admitted to practice in Florida.
