Holland & Knight Bolsters Energy & Clean Technology Team with Addition of 11 Lawyers
WASHINGTON (July 1, 2014) - Holland & Knight announced today that 11 lawyers have joined its Energy & Clean Technology Team from the law firm Brickfield Burchette Ritts & Stone, PC. Joining as partners are William Burchette, Christine Ryan, Michael McCarty, Allen O'Neil, Emily Streett, and Patrick Burchette in Washington, D.C., and Mark Davis in Austin, Texas. Also joining the firm as senior counsel are Fred Ritts and Alvin Taylor in Washington and John Wright and Russell Parish in Austin.
The group brings a wealth of experience in the representation of rural electrical cooperatives, municipal electrical systems and other wholesale suppliers on electric power and natural gas issues. These lawyers are experienced in virtually every aspect of their clients' businesses, including wholesale power contract negotiations; power plant acquisition, development and operation; finance; hydroelectric licensing and compliance; water resources development and regulation; transmission line certification and construction; RTO matters; and rate evaluation for electric power and natural gas. They also appear regularly before the United States Congress, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Rural Utilities Service, the Public Utility Commission of Texas and other state regulatory agencies on behalf of their clients.
