Holland & Knight Expands Litigation Practice in Chicago with Addition of Timothy Ray

CHICAGO (September 14, 2016) – Trial lawyer Timothy Ray has joined Holland & Knight as a partner in the firm's Chicago office. Mr. Ray's practice focuses on product liability and class actions. Most recently, he was a partner at Dentons.

Mr. Ray litigates complex commercial cases in state and federal courts across the country and has tried almost 40 jury trials to verdict. He also has successfully defended clients in domestic and international arbitration disputes. In addition to product liability and class action matters, he provides counsel to corporations in the areas of cross-border distribution and joint venture disputes, bad faith insurance litigation, and antitrust and False Claims Act litigation. His clients include Devon Energy, Ducati, Nasser Bin Khaled Holdings, Norquest Industries, Novartis Diagnostics, PetSmart Inc., Saudi Business Machines, Specialty Wine Distributors and Yaya Foods.

Mr. Ray has served on the Illinois Supreme Court Planning and Oversight Committee for a Judicial Performance Evaluation Program and the Committee for Professional Responsibility, as well as the Illinois State Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association Joint Task Force for Funding Judicial Campaigns. In 2004, he was named one of "40 Attorneys Under 40 to Watch" by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.

Mr. Ray received a J.D. degree from the University of Iowa College of Law and a B.A. degree from Xavier University of Louisiana.
