How Trump Would Rework Nafta—and What Mexico, Canada Want in Return

President Donald Trump has voiced his determination to re-negotiate more favorable terms from the North American Free Trade Agreement. However, Trump hasn't been explicit on the specific terms he wants to change, two suspected targets being procurement and the auto industry.

Typically, countries that want to update a trade agreement begin with an exchange of letters, said International trade Attorney Carlos Vejar. The nations then agree to an agenda of topics and set a negotiations schedule.
