Now You Can Do Your Taxes Without Filling Out The Insurance Question

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced it would accept tax returns that don't indicate whether the filer had health insurance during the previous year, making it easier for U.S. taxpayers to avoid penalties if they stay uninsured. Attorney Nicole Elliott, who served as a senior director of operations for the Affordable Care Act at the IRS during the Obama administration, weighed in on the matter.

"While this announcement is consistent with the recent executive order, it is concerning to those who worry about stability in the ACA marketplace," said Ms. Elliott.
