OSHA Enforcement Trends to Watch in 2016

Recent changes at the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) could significantly affect companies that fail to provide safe workplaces. Employment attorney Howard Sokol recommends that employers should take proactive measures to avoid the risk of repeat violations.

Mr. Sokol also emphasized that multi-employer operations, especially those with many facilities, take actions to protect against this risk. These actions include implementing a safety director, appointing a safety representative at each location, designating regional safety officers to self-evaluate the stores in their regions, sharing safety information with all regional officers and making available real-time electronic databases.
