William Shepherd Named Executive Partner of Holland & Knight's West Palm Beach Office

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (September 12, 2016) – Holland & Knight Managing Partner Steven Sonberg has appointed William Shepherd to serve as executive partner of the firm's West Palm Beach office. Mr. Shepherd will oversee the day-to-day management of the office, while continuing his white-collar and complex commercial litigation practice. The West Palm Beach office is one of three Holland & Knight offices in South Florida.

"Bill has shown great leadership since arriving at Holland & Knight and his high-profile roles as Florida's statewide prosecutor and with the American Bar Association bring much credit to the firm," said Mr. Sonberg. "With Bill's help, we are looking to expand the size and scope of our practices in West Palm Beach office."

Mr. Shepherd is a member of Holland & Knight's national White Collar Defense and Investigations Team and focuses on defending individuals and corporations in state and federal criminal matters and conducting sensitive internal investigations. In addition, Mr. Shepherd has been an important contributor to the expansion of Holland & Knight's complex commercial litigation practice in Palm Beach County. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Shepherd served nearly a dozen years as a prosecutor culminating in his appointment as Florida's statewide prosecutor by the state's attorney general. In this post, he led eight offices throughout Florida in the investigation and prosecution of multi-circuit criminal activity.

Mr. Shepherd has a long history of service within the legal profession. He currently serves on the American Bar Association (ABA) Board of Governors. In 2012-2013 he served as chair of the ABA's 20,000-member Criminal Justice Section.
