The Witness Interview: Protecting Against Dangerous Informality

Informal interview. It's a common term, but commonly misused. Most lawyers who represent people in government investigations, employment matters, regulatory matters and more can recite horror stories of the results of people walking unprepared into interviews that could impact their finances, employment and even their freedom. All because they were lulled into complacency by someone describing it as informal.

The reality is that if a witness is involved in an inquiry of any kind that may have legal implications, nothing is informal.
