Francis R. "Rob" Denig is an associate in Holland & Knight's New York office and is a member of the firm's the Maritime Practice Group. His practice encompasses a broad range of domestic and international maritime issues, including maritime casualties and salvage; Rule B and Rule C attachments and arrest proceedings; insurance coverage disputes; charter party disputes; maritime contracts and commercial litigation.

While attending law school, Mr. Denig served as an associate editor of the Hofstra Law Review and participated in the Hofstra Securities Arbitration Clinic. Mr. Denig represented elderly investors of modest means in settlement negotiations and in mediation and arbitration proceedings before FINRA.

Prior to law school, Mr. Denig acquired extensive experience in the commercial maritime industry. Mr. Denig holds a 100 Ton Master License and has served as captain on a variety of passenger vessels, offshore supply vessels, oil spill response vessels, research vessels and tugs. In addition to his field experience, Mr. Denig also served as port captain and operations manager for a private company that owns and operates a fleet of vessels engaged in underwater cable installation and repair, oceanographic surveying, oil spill responses, offshore platform support, passenger transpiration and alternative energy offshore project development.
