Maria Metropulos is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Chicago office and a member of the firm's Corporate Services Team. Ms. Metropulos focuses her practice on corporate mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, finance transactions and general corporate law.

Ms. Metropulos represents privately held companies across a wide range of industries in a variety of corporate matters, including the disposition and acquisition of assets and stock, restructurings, succession planning and corporate governance. She also represents institutional lenders, private equity funds, mezzanine lenders and borrowers in senior-secured credit facilities, second-lien and term debt facilities, asset-based credit facilities, commercial real estate credit facilities, participation arrangements, and mortgage loan portfolio sales and acquisitions. Additionally, Ms. Metropulos has significant experience representing borrowers and lenders in financing and documenting employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) transactions.

Ms. Metropulos serves as adjunct faculty at Northwestern University School of Law, where she teaches business and entrepreneurial law. She also serves as adjunct faculty at The John Marshall Law School Business Enterprise Law Clinic, where she supervises law students in the representation of clients in business formation and general corporate matters on a pro bono basis.

During law school, Ms. Metropulos served on the editorial board of The John Marshall Law Review. She also interned and was lead clinical student at The Veterans Legal Support Center & Clinic, where she helped advocate for veterans through individual case work, through her work with the Illinois legislature to draft and promulgate legislation to assist veterans in obtaining rehabilitation, and through training advocates in the area of veterans benefits law.
