Death By 1,000 Cuts: Rolling Back Regulation In The Age Of Trump

Questions continue to circle around the nation's capital about the fate of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and its director, Richard Cordray. Attorney Tony DiResta said that if President Trump does remove Mr. Cordray, the agency could be forced to freeze all pending investigations.

"Businesses want and operate on certainty, not ambiguity," said Mr. DiResta. "That's the angst right now that the business community is facing with respect to not only investigations, but rulemaking and conducting of audits. Right now, it's just really a period of uncertainty that does not function well in the business world."
