Holland & Knight Raises $33,000 for Jacksonville Organizations Benefiting At-Risk Children
JACKSONVILLE (August 1, 2017) – Holland & Knight has awarded $33,000 in grants to 20 local community organizations assisting at-risk children. For the seventh year in a row, lawyers and staff in the firm's Jacksonville office contributed money as part of the Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation, Inc.’s Jacksonville Local Donor Advised Fund.
The Jacksonville office's Committee for the Public Good prepared and distributed grant applications and met over three weeks to determine which organizations would receive grants. The Committee for the Public Good received requests for funding worthy causes such as camp scholarships for children with special needs, personal and professional career development programming for teens, early childhood literacy programs, arts and music education programs, and hospice care for low income children.
